Birds frame the SS Palo Alto, made of concrete, and built for wartime use as a tanker. World War 1 ended before ship construction was finished and it was purchased in 1929 and brought to Seacliff Beach, Aptos, CA where it was used as an amusement center for two seasons, ceasing operations when the company went broke.  The ship remains an important historical landmark.
