The SS Palo Alto is made of concrete and was built for wartime use as a tanker, however World War 1 ended before ship construction was finished.  Purchased in 1929 and brought to Seacliff Beach, Aptos, CA, it was used as an amusement center for two seasons.  The ship’s ocean-battered remains continue to be an important historical point of interest.
